Chemec is proud to announce that we have been awarded a Silver Medal in the 2026 EcoVadis sustainability assessment, marking once again a significant milestone in our ongoing sustainability journey.
In a continuously developing assessment framework, Chemec improved its score from 68 to 76 points, clearly demonstrating our commitment to continuous development. With the Silver medal threshold set at 72/100 at the beginning of 2026, our result places us among the top 15% of companies globally in the category of organisations with 25–99 employees.
A Comprehensive Assessment of Sustainability Performance
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading providers of business sustainability ratings, evaluating companies across four key areas:
- Environment
- Labour & Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement
These areas cover a broad spectrum of corporate responsibility, from environmental impact and working conditions to ethical business practices and supply chain management.
Improvements Across All Areas
Compared to the previous year, Chemec achieved improvements in every single assessment category, highlighting the consistency of our sustainability efforts.
The most significant progress was made in:
- Sustainable Procurement, where our score increased by 16 points
- Ethics, with an improvement of 12 points
These results reflect the strengthening of our supplier evaluation processes, clearer ethical guidelines, and increased transparency in our operations.
In addition, we achieved solid improvements in:
- Environment (+9 points)
- Labour & Human Rights (+4 points)
While these increases were more moderate, they are particularly meaningful given the evolving evaluation criteria. The improvements are supported by more systematic development work and enhanced reporting practices, including the use of internal reporting frameworks such as VSME and ITR, which have improved both the quality and transparency of our sustainability data.
Sustainability as an Ongoing Journey
At Chemec, sustainability is not a one-time initiative but a continuous process embedded in our daily operations and long-term strategy. The EcoVadis assessment provides valuable external validation of our progress while also helping us identify areas for further improvement.
Our goal is to continuously strengthen our performance in all four areas, ensuring that we meet both current expectations and future requirements from customers, partners, and regulators.
